Celebrating Women In Sales Month 2021

Sharmila Wijeyakumar / November 16th, 2021

October was a month to celebrate Women in Sales, and here at Veriday, we did! Veriday has traditionally been led by some amazing men the Lamoureux brothers, Marc & Chris, along with Nick Quach, Jonah Cohn and so many more. Did you know Veriday means an honest day’s work? This is our ethos, and it shapes our culture. A few years ago, leadership realized even though they were doing an amazing job at cultural diversity and inclusion, they had an area that needed attention. That area was gender diversity in leadership.

To rectify this issue, Veriday has been hiring female leaders. The first was Amanda Traynor, leaving a legacy of promoting the idea of female leadership. In March of 2020, I was the next one to come into leadership in US Sales. It is never easy to change roles, but at the start of a global pandemic, it’s easy to imagine there were many challenges. Leading a new team only by way of virtual meetings and managing change at a rapid speed, the leaders of Veriday continued to be agile through it all with growth. We are proud of our Sales and Marketing teams and all they are accomplishing through great adversity and continuous change.

That’s not to say we don’t have more room for improvement, but I love working for a team that is willing to embrace change. We also just added another female leader in October, Heather Kiedrowski, as our Field Marketing Manager. This role is a bridge between sales and marketing and Heather comes to us with over ten years of experience leading marketing impact in global companies. As you can see, Veriday is taking its commitment to females in leadership seriously by continuing this trend and I’m honored it has complemented my growth, too.

The big thing for me is, I never think about myself as a female in business. I’m a person in business. – Lori Greiner

My promotion to Chief Revenue Officer in October further diversifies our executive team both in gender parity and cultural diversity, as well as solidifies our commitment to continued growth. I am the first female to take the title of CRO in the history of Veriday, and it is a milestone. I was able to mark it by being the keynote speaker, elaborating on “What Dating and Digital Agent Have in Common,” at our US Digital Agent product launch. You can view it here if you missed it. So as you can see, we have a lot to celebrate as we close this year’s Women in Sales Month.

Committed to continuing diversity growth, we have several open positions, including one for a Sales Engineer. A remote role starting in January 2022, this person will join a transparent and cohesive team with a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and its people.
