Our professional service expertise was required to provide Sompo International with a customer claims portal. Soon after portal implementation Veriday set out to build a strong foundation for Sompo International for them to be able to leverage a flexible platform and allow for Veriday’s expertise for further enhancements.

Sompo International is a global insurance and reinsurance company that provides coverage for global property and casualty claims and health-related issues. Sompo has an extensive global footprint in 228 cities in 30 countries and its core business encompasses one of the largest property and casualty insurance groups in the Japanese domestic market.

Sompo International had two false starts with two different consultants who were brought in and abandoned their risk management portal. There was little advancement in the portal’s development prior to Veriday’s arrival. This portal needed to improve the efficiency of the claims process which was still handled via email, phone calls, and by mail in order to be entered into the claim system.

Our competitors cannot utilize Liferay as a DXP platform as well as us. Delivery for the risk management portal was on a very short timeline. The platform was envisioned to extend beyond the claims processes, and have become the foundational platform for all other solutions, assets, and communications. We provided a Solution Architect with Liferay experience to join the Sompo team and get the project kicked off, after that we then grew the team over time.

Sompo’s Risk Management Portal accelerates and automates claim processing and thus, increases client satisfaction. The initial release of the Liferay DXP platform transformed the outdated and slow claims processes that relied on phone calls and emails, to now being entirely on the portal. The release of the Risk Management portal for Sompo International was successful. Due to the improvement in the user experience and the enhancement of the outdated processes, the portal users now heavily rely on the portal for the insurance claims processes. Sompo is very pleased with the platform built for them using Liferay and following poor experiences with other consultants, now are comfortable with having a long-term partnership with Veriday.
